iPad 2 is Here

The iPad 2 has hit the market. Within short time it might be lapped. A lot of expectations are beginning to rise with the launch of the Apple iPad 2. The new iPad is a slimmer and less-heavier version than its predecessor. There are also cameras at the front and rear. Though it does output High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) with a capacity of one thousand and eight pixels, it does so not through an HDMI port, but with a special cable that connects it with a television.

The new model also has double processing speed. Its graphics processing capabilities have also been increased. Even though the processing speed has been increased, the prices remain the same. Hovering around $500-$830, the basic model is equipped with 16GB memory and Wi-Fi connectivity. With downloadable apps like direct tv, you can watch your favorite tv shows on the go. Although there’s Honeycomb giving close competition, the iPad 2 still had loyal likers. But it has to be said that it’s now the fight between Apple’s iOS and Android’s Honeycomb. Because Motorola’s Xoom is nearly as good as iPad, but with a key difference. The Xoom is on Android. And Android is the talk of the town. So would users prefer Xoom over iPad 2 or vice versa?

Price wise there is not much difference between Xoom and iPad 2. Yet it is the mobile operating system that could make the difference. While Android is a free and open mobile operating system, iOS is much more controlled. This means if someone wants more security then the obvious choice would be the iPad 2.

Social Networking for Non-Profit

Twitter can be an excellent resource for non-profit organizations to use. Although Facebook is more popular, Twitter can be just as effective if utilized correctly.

Social networks like Twitter are a good way to reach out to other non-profit organizations to let them know the latest news about what is going on within your organization. This is a great way to inform them about events such as:

  • Fundraisers
  • Special holiday donations
  • Networking events
  • New Hires and organization changes

Twitter can also assist in keeping people up to the minute with news instead of writing traditional newsletters or an email blast. If you have to include more information than just a blurb, you can include a link to your Twitter message with the details. This will save you time as well. Millions of organizations do this, like Kars 4 Kids, to keep the public notified in a timely fashion.

One thing to remember is that it’s all about outreach to let others know who you are. In order to get a good following, tweet as much as possible about your organization. Soon you will be featured as, “a tweet to follow” and your tweets will be visible to others to connect to you. Also, you want to include your Twitter address in your emails and any other advertisement you use to promote yourself. This will attract people to join your page so they can follow you. Of course, word of mouth is always a selling point that never goes out of style!

iPhone Photo apps that will make you go wow!

here are so many applications for the taking to edit pictures on your iPhone. This article will not attempt to talk about all those applications. Rather a few of them. And  the best of them according to us.

There are always some inherent features to the iPhone. It is just about downloading some applications that make use of these. Photo editing apps won’t cost a lot. Given the fact that the iPhone does have a good camera and video recording, one can always import the pics or videos into the computer and use desktop applications to edit them.

Yet, there’s a lot of fun editing on the move. That’s why the iPhone was built, and that’s specifically the reason why such apps will complement its purpose. Some of these apps can even create sketches out of captured photos.

Edit a Sketch
This is a very simple and easy application to use. You can use this application to take a photo from within it. Or you can just get the photos externally loaded into the app to get it started. The next thing that the app will do is make the color go away and make the photo look hand-drawn. It’s almost like a pencil-sketch. By default the sketch looks very good to use, but it is still editable. It is recommended that the sketch remain as it were in the first place to retain its originality.

Macphun’s FX Photo Studio is another great photo editing app for iPhone. It provides multiple filters to give the photos a variety of looks. Coming at a cost of just over a dollar, it’s sure worth a buy.

Galaxy pro: The new entrant to the race

The race in the smartphone category has hotted up again with the entry of the Galaxy Pro smartphone from Samsung. This phone does have a resemblance to Blackberry’s phones, yet it retains the same look and feel that Samsung phone have.

Galaxy Pro runs on Android – a definite plus, give the popularity of the mobile operating system. The Galaxy Pro seems to be a close competitor to Research in Motion’s (RIM) Blackberry’s suite of smartphones.

Galaxy Pro sure has its place in the sun, considering that users are looking beyond Blackberry. In today’s age of fickle consumer interests, variety is in vogue. Consumer loyalty is something that no mobile manufacturer can expect. And cashing in on such a situation is Samsung with the new Galaxy Pro.
